I'm Depressed

It's things like this that tempt me to stop reading the news or talking about Israel altogether. It's been going on for a long time now, ever since it became clear to the Palestinians that violence would not get them their state. (Not that Palestinian terrorism has stopped, or even slowed down, in the wake of that realization.)

Folks, you're a bunch of sensible people. If you had an opponent that you tried to push aside and that opponent wouldn't budge, wouldn't you try something new? Or at least stop pushing?

Not the Palestinian extremists. They continue to push, continue to reject dialogue, and for some years now they have resorted to lies and misleading rhetoric to get the world on their side

What's worse is, it seems to be working in some places. That university students might find the Palestinian cause appealing I can understand - young people very often root for the underdog under the usual assumption of youth that its elders are wrong about everything. But when the Presbyterian Church threatens to boycott companies that supply Israel with much-needed defense materials, assuming that those boycotts will pressure Israel into making "peace" with a group that misses no opportunity to murder the innocent?

.
Palestinian terrorists have been lying about Israel for years, and their lies have gotten more surreal over time. They say that Palestinian women are sold at auction to Israeli men, that there's a special wing of a major Israeli prison where Palestinian women are kept as whores for Israeli men, that suicide bombers are heroes rather than murderers, and on and on. The Presbyterian Church and its allies, like all those who advocate divestment from Israel, have heard these lies and actually bought into them. There's a word for people like that.

Suckers.

Benshlomo says, Oh shut up.
